Congratulations,  On our Lady Wildcats who composed a 23-3 record this year.  With some hustle, heart and hoops they went on a 13-0 run before suffering their first loss.  They were undefeated at home and won many road games this year.  With Seniors Desert, Ash Laidlaw and Audrey Black leading the way for the Wildcats.  Another little firecracker that played hard was Nitasha Drake, who proved no matter how short she was, she was always going to mix it up with the big girls.  Added to this mix was The Little Hulk, Maddie Rombal, the Sophmore who showed why she is the future of this team with her wicked crossovers and good defense. Step up three bomber who brought the rain was Freshman wing, Talayah Smith. Talayah showed her skills with her three point shooting this year and will be an improvement next year.  This years up and coming players were the lefty, Jocelyn Estrada who came into games ready to play and help out our veterans.  Also in the mix was Cora Rasse who also showed some of her skills in our games.  Last but not least is Chelsea Wood, who looks to be the future post or center of this team.  This years team had a theme: RELENTLESS!   They showed no fear or intimidation,  It was attack the basketball and show your fundamentals.  All this proved to be the strength of this team this year. The Wildcats never gave up no matter what the score was when they were down.  For the first time in history, they were ranked number 1 in Maxpreps Division 5 and kept that ranking since December of 2018.  They had the number 1 seed in the playoffs after the regular season.  The Lady Wildcats had a first round bye and would play Hi Tech High at home in the quarter final.  The Lady Wildcats prevailed in a 57-47 victory!  Move on the semi-final where they would meet the Red Hawks from Mt. Empire where both teams split the regular season.  It would be the Lady Wildcats who would come out victorious in this up and down battle by the score of 43-41!  What a game and if you weren't there, you missed one of the most exciting games in Warner history! On to the Division 5 championship game.  For the first time in history, Warner is competing for a championship.  What excitement it was for the Lady Wildcats and their coach Tom Vargas.  The atmosphere was like a huge circus!  Lights, big screens, and alot of people.  We were so proud of our huge fan support by parents, family members, students and friends as well as some teachers  who came a long way to see the Lady Wildcats in action.  The Lady Wildcats came up short with a loss of 57-21 to a much more big school of 2,100 students compared to our less than 60 students. What a season!  We are all proud of our Lady Wildcats team and to be a part of the history of this season is a once in a long time experience. It  just goes to show what hard work can accomplish.  Thanks to our parents who were there for us all season and our students who were there to support us as well.  Thanks to our AD"s  Coach Dobbie and Coach Rico for their support as well. Also to those teachers who showed up to our games and cheered for us, thank you.  Thanks also to our scorer, AnnMargret who has been score keeping for many seasons,  Great job AnnM!  Chelsea Mercado also was our stats person this season. Thank you Chelsea!
