Dear Warner Parents,
Warner Unified School District is concerned about recent “TikTok Challenges” that impact our school community.
Last month, a challenge called the “Devious Lick” encouraged students to damage and steal school property. Yesterday, we were alerted to a troubling new “TikTok Challenge” called “Slap a Teacher.”
We value our educators; their safety—as well as the safety of our students—is our highest priority. We will not tolerate any behavior resulting in violence to staff members or students, nor will we ignore behavior that causes damage to or the defacing of school property.
Please partner with us in keeping our educators, students and facilities safe for everyone. Talk with your children about appropriate, respectful behavior and your expectations for their appropriate behavior as students and community members in our schools. Students who willfully touch an educator in a harmful manner will face immediate disciplinary action which may result in expulsion from school or criminal prosecution.
We appreciate your support, and it is my sincere hope that all WUSD students demonstrate good judgement and make choices that ensure the safety of everyone in our school community.
David MacLeod,
Superintendent
