Public Speaking is in full swing! Our 15 minutes of fame speeches were a hit today, filled with humor, creativity, and thought.
The Boys got new gear today thanks to Jesse Lozano and his organization 1morewin.org. They came out and donated 25 sets of home and away jerseys and new shoulder pads. The boys will also be recieving a new 5 man sled in a few weeks. Football game is Sept. 10th.

This is David MacLeod, Superintendent of Warner Unified with an important message for Middle school. I am calling to let you know we have had a positive test for the COVID-19 in Middle school. So at this time we need to quarantine the 7th and 8th grade classes. Please do not send your middle school child to school tomorrow. This class will switch to an online class. Your teacher will be in contact with you with more information. We will be sending devices home, please call the district office tomorrow to schedule a time to pick up a Chromebook. This is a precautionary measure to stop any more spread of the virus. Your child can return to school on Monday, September 13th. If your child develops any symptoms please let us know. The IRS is reaching out to America’s school districts to help spread the word about the 2021 Advance Child Tax Credit payments, which could be to up to $1,800 per qualifying child. These payments are made automatically to taxpayers who qualified on their 2020 tax returns. Our current outreach efforts are focused on low-income families who may not be required to file tax returns. We have developed a tool that can help these families get the Advanced Child Tax Credit payments and help them get missed Economic Impact Payments (EIP). This could amount to over $14,000 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children who may be struggling to make ends meet.

The Sustainable Ag Biology class hard at work learning the basics of biology!
All of our science classes have been practicing their Scientific Method skills!
9th graders are in the first stages of writing an essay. Today we're crafting introductions and trying out 5 different formats. Students are encouraged to practice all 5 different formats, but hone in on the ones they feel most comfortable with in their own writing.
Today was the second volleyball gameof the 2021-2022 year! Our girls made it very exciting! We had to play all five games and took the win! The girls had amazing sportsmanship. Go Lady Wildcats! Come out to the next game and cheer them on!

High school students this year are in independent reading book clubs. Their choices included authors from diverse backgrounds: Native American, Russian, African American, and more!
In TK2ROCKS today we started iReady testing! We were also builders and watched the alphabet come to life with our Letters Alive alphabet!
Ignite Journalism, a FREE extracurricular program for San Diego County teens to learn the fundamentals of journalism, produce an online newspaper, and explore media career options is looking for new students to join their program! (hint: this also would look great on college applications!!)
If you know students who enjoy writing and are curious about journalism, they might be interested in joining this program.
The program goes from September through May and involves a one-hour online weekly meeting and writing one article per month.
It is designed for juniors and seniors, but younger high school students who are strong writers are welcome to apply.

Now that we are back in the classroom, we can finally do something so crucial: COLLABORATE! Our seniors will be in collaborative learning groups this trimester as they learn how to communicate, compromise, debate, and accept new ideas.
