Who says teachers can’t have fun playing on the new playground equipment!!

I want to thank the wonderful organization “Bikes for Kids”. They donated bikes and helmets for each one of my students this year! Here are some pictures of my happy 3rd graders and their bikes.

Please spread the word! The FCC is providing a monthly discount on broadband “internet” service of up to $50 per eligible household (or up to $75 per eligible household on Tribal lands). But the deadline to apply is Dec. 31, 2021. It’s called the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program and the FCC will pay the internet provider directly. Eligible households can enroll through a participating broadband provider or directly with the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) using an online or mail in application.
You can learn more about the benefit, including eligibility and enrollment information, by visiting www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit, or by calling 833-511-0311.

Dear Warner Parents,
On Monday we will have another set of work packets available in the office for those grades that require handouts. Please confirm with your teacher if your student has handouts or if it is just online. We will also have a couple of weeks' worth of food ready for pick up as well. The pickup window will be 10 am to 1 pm. If this window doesn't work for your family, please let your teacher know and we will arrange something. Please call the district office if you have questions. Have a good Sunday.

Dear Warner Parents,
I have been in communication with Team Lead for the School Response Team for Epidemiology & Immunization Services Branch at the County Health Department. She let me know that our basketball game has been determined to be a spreader event. We have identified the students who were close contacts and emailed their families. The spreader event would have resulted in us closing the school down when we had 3 different families that were positive, however we took that step already at the second positive case. So there is nothing more to do. I asked about the upcoming week and according to the decision tree we are able to come back, but there is a still a chance of spread. 10 days is the standard quarantine but 14 is better. I have weighed the risks and decided that we will go one more week in quarantine to be sure. I want everyone to know I don't take this lightly and I have discussed it with many experts, but in the end I feel we need to play it safe. I am sorry for the inconvenience it creates. We will have another message out soon about meals and packets on Monday. If you have questions or concerns, please call the district office. Please be safe and wear a mask.

Dear Warner Middle School Parents,
We quarantined the high school due to a 2nd positive case. Since the contact tracing is starting to involve middle school students I am going to quarantine the middle school as well. Students are expected to reach out to their teachers and continue their lessons. The students can return to school on Dec. 13th. If you have any questions please contact the district office.

Third and sixth grade art students used their imaginations to create abstract dot to dot works of art as an introductory art lesson when elementary classes started again at the beginning of the 2nd Trimester. Students drew and connected 4 dots to create a rectangle, then drew 20 random dots in the created space and randomly connected them. Next, students began the process of seeing if any creatures or items appeared in the shapes created by dotting the dots. If so, they changed the shapes into found creatures, items; if not they created an abstract design drawing.

When alumni come back to give back! This is what Warner is all about. First home games!

Dear Warner High School Parents,
We had a positive COVID-19 case on the High School campus. I have personally called each close contact and alerted them. If you didn't receive a call then your child was not deemed a close contact. We are going to also quarantine the whole high school as an extra precaution. This is to ensure there is no further spread. Please make sure your students are reaching out to their teachers for their assignments. We will have Chromebooks, hotspots, and assignments available soon at the district office for pickup. The students can return after Thanksgiving week on Nov. 29th. If you have questions or concerns, please email me at david.macleod@warnerusd.net
