
9th graders started their short story unit this week! Yesterday we read, Langston Hughes' short story, "Thank You Ma'am" - a story that explores motherhood, forgiveness, kindness, and charity. Today, students are writing theme analyses and are finding poignant messages and articulating them beautifully.

For our last speech of the trimester, Public Speaking student Wom'$i chose to educate us on a very crucial issue: the alarming rate of Native American women who go missing. She provided us with well-researched statistics, specific examples, and wonderful resources on how to help. Thank you Wom'$i for choosing to speak from the heart about a problem that needs so much more attention!

Reminder that tomorrow is Warner Unified Halloween parade. Kids are encouraged to dress up as we parade around the campus. Please make sure costumes are appropriate for school. We will keep the tour to outside to protect against covid. Tomorrow evening is Trunk or Treat from 5 to 7 pm. Parents can come to the Warner Resource Center and have the kids walk from car to car and get candy. The cars are decorated Parents who are interested in setting up should be there around 4 pm.

Abby, one of our SOPHOMORES, is steadily moving through her Palomar course on Psychology. As someone who wants to pursue criminal justice, she will be way ahead in her career as she is beginning her college classes in 10th grade!


6th grade just started their journey learning about Ancient China. We went on a scavenger hunt around the room to find facts about Ancient China




Whoo it has been a busy week! We had Birch Aquarium come visit. We got to explore fish and the ocean! Quinn became our honorary fish we added all the fish parts to her! We also followed some of the scientific method with observation and research! Some kids recreated fish!





9th grade just finished "Fahrenheit 451," and are left feeling inspired to imagine their own futures. The dystopian novel suggests an entirely different future, so we begun group projects in which we create our own! Paired with an essay on the dynamics of our decisions, we see how our actions affect the future for all.



It's all about pumpkins this week in 1st and 2nd grade! Shout out to Leo for having the closest estimate of how many seeds were inside our pumpkin! We counted 525 seeds!


Reminder this Friday is our last home football game. It is also Senior Night. We will be selling carne asada plate(3 tacos, rice, and beans) for 10 or single tacos for 2.50. Ashaa Takook will also be singing bird before the game. Come out and support!


Feeling festive over here in Public Speaking! Students got to research anything they wanted for our most recent speech. We got a couple holiday origins, and other informal speeches such as how to gain confidence, and how to sleep better.




Senior Night dinner is official!!!!! carne Asada Tacos!!!! 2.50 for each or 10.00 for 3 tacos and rice and beans!

Friday Oct 22 is our last home football game! It is also senior nite! Come out and support. Our favorite bird singers will be singing before the game! WE MAY HAVE A SUPRISE SNACK BAR ITEM FOR YOU ALL TO COME AND BUY!!!! I will let you know on Monday! Look for a post!!!!
