Greetings and welcome to the 2026/2027 school year.
I met with our amazing student body this morning and outlined some changes for this school year. Here are some of the changes you will be seeing as we move ahead:
We will be having a five period school day and stay with trimesters. This will allow us to continue to offer electives and cover our core classes more thoroughly.
Students will be required to put their phones in the classroom pockets during class time for each period. A point of emphasis this year will be to make sure we maximize instructional time. The staff and I have spent some time discussing different strategies to improve the engagement in our classrooms with longer periods.
Another point of emphasis this year will be for students to ask for permission before they leave the classroom this year. Even though our young people are growing up and becoming responsible, we still need to know where they are at all times on school grounds.
Detentions will need to be given when students choose to not follow these two expectations this year. The athletics and activities leaders are aware that detentions on Friday will take precedence over an activity that is scheduled at the same time. If students are absent for their detention, they will need to serve it the following Friday.
Students have been given their student handbooks and syllabi for the trimester. I will be handing out ice cream starting tomorrow for students who bring the back page of the handbook signed by a family member and themselves as well as for students who return their syllabi signed. I am expecting to hand out a lot of ice cream the next two days.
We talked this morning about what a great summer it was for our FFA students who brought animals to the Fair. Our goal is to grow our group by 50% this coming winter. This was a great community experience for the students as well as the families who participated. Warner made an impressive showing at the Fair and we look to continue that excellence as our new tradition.
We talked about becoming involved in the school and being a part of something that is happening. Our athletics and ASB programs are outstanding for our size of school. We are looking to start a cheer squad this year and starting a new club is always a possibility.
We will continue to expose our young people to more career opportunities and pathways to be better prepared for the future! College applications and applying for trade schools start as early as October.
Finally, as a group we will continue to uplift and care for one another on our campus. Our school is a unique place in that our students do genuinely care for one another. Our school is a safe place to take risks and learn! We are WILDCATS together!

Good evening Warner Families!
Tomorrow is our first day back to school. Staff has been working hard to prepare for your students over the past several days. We are excited to see your kids back on campus. Please check your email or the Facebook page for the bus routes. We had a last minute staffing change and are down a bus driver, so we will continue with morning van routes for Los Tules and Los Coyotes while we train additional drivers.
We will adjust times over the first week and will adjust the schedule as needed.
Thank you for your patience. See you in the morning!

One of the parts of having an amazing school is that students are taught to be responsible and are encouraged to think critically. There are several ways in which we will be expecting more of our Wildcats this year:
1. Cell phone policy will be practiced and followed in each class.
2. Finals are being re-instituted at the end of each trimester.
3. Students will have detention on Friday if they leave class without permission. Friday detentions will not be rescheduled and students may need to miss a game or an activity if the Friday falls on a the day of an event.
4. Parents will be encouraged to attend middle school and high school conferences this year. Our students need us more than ever through middle and high school. Let's work together to assist our young people in every way that we can.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday!
