Today got to watch our athletic director Coach Rico ref basketball! Lots of fun seeing all the new talent! Looking forward to seeing parents next year at sporting events! I miss all your faces!




This week during advisory we had guest speaker DEA Agent Rocky. He spoke about the reality and dangers of drug use and also the important choices we face everyday. "You are not born a winner. You are not born a loser. You are born a chooser".

Realistic and Non-Realistic Self-Portraits
Students drew a realistic self portrait paying attention to proportion, shading and contrast for a weekly project. The next week we studied different art movements; Pop-Art, Surrealism, Fauvism, Cubism, Expressionism and Abstraction. The students then created a
non-realistic self-portrait based upon the art movements covered.

Today 4th graders investigated how differences in lava types (thin & thick) explain differences in the shape and eruption patterns among volcanoes!




3rd grade is at it again! We are saving Fred the (gummy) worm by helping him cross the Mississippi River. With 1 piece of paper, staples or tape, the students were ask to create the longest bridge they could.

First Grade mapped out their garden on paper first before planting. We’re growing marigolds, petunias, and calibrachoas! We marked certain plants to observe over time and we’re hoping to watch them grow!

6th grade created paper roller coasters today. It was quite the challenge but they persevered!





School Counselor Mrs.Sutton joined 4th graders in Ms.Spinks class today. We learned about Mindfulness, breathing techniques to calm our brain and body calm and positive affirmations.


Today’s “Engineer This!” challenge took inspiration from the new solar panel project that (quite literally) broke ground today! First grade is excited to watch the progress of the real world STEM project happening at our school.



This week Juniors started on their post secondary plans project with Mrs.Sutton. Transcript review, personality assessment, Palomar courses Ed plans and researching what colleges/trades schools they will apply to. Also making their senior year check list. Great job!

Join 3rd grade on our adventure in saving Fred the Worm as we use our STEM skills. Fred likes adventure and today we had to save him as his boat was capsized and his life vest ended up under his boat. Using 2 paper clips, we had to figure out how to put his life vest back on.
