Dear Warner Parents and Staff, With half the district still with no power and a majority of the students doing online we will unfortunately have to close school for tomorrow. The wind is expected to die down tomorrow and the red flag warning should be over tomorrow evening.

Dear Warner Parents & Staff, On Fridays, students normally do not attend school other than a quick online meeting and tutorials with their teachers. Due to the wide spread power outages we will be cancelling online lessons and tutorials tomorrow. We will also be cancelling the normal lunch deliveries as many families have stated they do not have working fridges or freezers to receive the meals. We will instead delivery Monday and Friday of next week. Sorry for the inconvenience. Remember to check out the Warner Resource Center during outages for items to help during these trying times.

First graders start the day with an engineering challenge. Kelly made monkey bars, Silas made a roving playground, and TeAsia made a ladder and slide. How would you design a playground?

Dear Warner Parents, Warner Unified has partnered with different organizations to help bring better internet to the backcountry. Our hotspots have helped most families get adequate internet but there are still areas that are not receiving internet. If you or someone you know isn't receiving adequate internet please fill out the following survey: https://oshunsorchard.com/san-diego-backcountry-starlink-survey/ https://oshunsorchard.com/san-diego-backcountry-starlink-survey-spanish/ This survey is created by the owners of the Ranchita store who have been working with Starlink (Elon Musk's company) to make sure we have the demand to get Starlink in our area.

Reminder Warner parents and staff that in-person classes will be back on Monday. We will also be delivering lunches on Monday and Friday this week. Regular time and regular place. If you can not make it to pick up the lunches, please call so the lunch doesn't go to waste.

Dear Warner Parents, Here is a quick important message. Reminder that tomorrow is lunch delivery day. We will not be delivering the following week because of the holidays. The delivery will be on the following Monday November 30th. There will be 2 deliveries that week. I also am happy to report since we quarantined we have had no extra Covid cases. Shutting down the school was an extra step just incase the quarantine didn't work. There has been no spread of Covid between our initial 2 cases and the staff and students who came in contact. Our safeguards were a successful. We will be returning to school November 30th for in-person classes. We still ask parents to symptom screen every morning and not to send students to school who have symptoms. Thank you everyone and have a good night. Dave MacLeod Superintendent

Mrs. Zurcher-Upson and Mrs.Sutton (School Counselor) teamed up today and presented to the freshman Bio class their SAE project assignment. This year students are completing a Career Exploration component. One of the sections asks students "What agriculture and academic classes should you take to be prepared for the next steps after high school". This was a perfect opportunity to learn about the A-G requirements and also Dual enrollment through Palomar College. A fun game of Kahoot was a great way to end the lesson.

In preparation for reading Agatha Christie's murder mystery, "And Then There Were None," today 9th graders had in-depth conversation on dichotomies & determining justice. These are some basic notes I took while the students discussed. Excited to see how their views develop!

2nd grade has discovered how to change the background on our google meet. We can dream about being in space, or camping in an airstream, or at the beach on an island. Having some fun and learning more about google and all it can do for us!
